Items Needed:
G Hook, I Hook
7 oz. of Worsted Weight Yarn
I would recommend crocheting the top band first, then checking to see if it fits on your legs (should be pretty tight, will loosen up with time and washing, and they need to stay up when walking). If you have wider legs than me (mine are 13") you can increase the hook until the band fits, never, and I mean never, increase the number of sc, it'll throw off the pattern. Also you could decrease the hook if you needed the band to be smaller.
Here's a picture of the pattern stitch diagram:

Here are some pictoral explanations of terms I use in the pattern:

Repeat round 8-15 until desired length.
To finish:
ch 2, sl st to top of dc cluster, *ch 5, sc in either ch 5 space, or top of dc cluster* around, join last ch 5 to the sl st to this round. This row should be comprised of only ch 5 "arches" no closed dc clusters.
7 sc in each ch 5 “arch” around, join. (56 sc)
Ch 1, sc in same stitch, sc around, join (56 sc)
Repeat last row 3 more times, or until length you want, tie off, weave in ends.
For a tighter bottom row (for 80's style legwarmers instead of belled ones), try chaining fewer instead of 5, and vary the amount of sc in these arches accordingly.
A note on all my patterns: I offer my patterns free, and I'd like them to stay free, therefore feel free to print them out and pass them out to as many people as you'd like, I simply ask that you put my web address somewhere on the pattern, so people know where it came from. Never ever sell my patterns or present them as your own. You can give away items made from my patterns, but if you want to sell them online you need to state that the pattern is free and available here. This means that every single listing for any item made with my pattern must state that the pattern you used is free and you must also post a link to it. I'm not trying to be mean, I just want the most people possible to have access to free patterns. Please don't violate these rules and ruin things for everyone else. Thanks!
